What can I do to make it easier for me to concentrate and remember things after my brain injury?
After a brain injury, it is somethimes hard to concentrate or remember things. It may be especially hard to deal with noisy, busy surroundings. It can be hard to do complicated tasks, or to keep track of several things at once. Switching from one thing to another may be hard, or it may be hard to get back to something when you have been interrupted. You can deal with this by avoiding noisy settings at first and then returning to them as you find you are better able to tolerate them. Write down the important things you have to remember in a safe place that is easy to find. Daily planners work very well for this. Make sure you get plenty of rest and eat well. Because your mind may not be as reliable as it once was, it is also a good idea to check with someone you trust about important decisions you make.

Have a specific hook for your keys to put them on as soon as you get home, so that the keys are always there.
